From the Peninsula
A mural depicting the smiling faces of two Negritos of the Malay Peninsula. Also known as the Semang, they are an indigenous group inhabiting the northern part of the peninsula and are generally characterized by their short stature, dark skin, and frizzy hair, which share similarities with other Negrito populations in Southeast Asia and certain indigenous African tribes. Painted in Ottawa's Chinatown in 2020.
Location: 764 Somerset St W, Ottawa, ON K1R 6P9 (now partially blocked by condos)
